How do you feel when....
by LouBelle in...when you remember that you are free from that religion?.
for me, it is the best pick me up i can ever have.
i may have had some really dark days, i may still, but that is the one thing that pulls me towards myself: i am free to think for myself, i am free to associate with whom i want, i am free to sleep in on the weekends, i am free of the guilt, i am free of an angry god that made me feel shit about myself.. i am fortunate enough to have put that time in my past - though i am happy to speak to ex jw's - to share experiences, to laugh, to cry and then to celebrate we are out.. i know that many of us still have people in that faith that we love.

Life always has it's stresses but reviewing your choice to leave and the freedom of thought you have now can keep your prospective clear. I also think you need to make a list of things that make you happy and try to arrange your life so as to have as many of them as possible. i always feel better around large bodies of water especially the ocean so we worked hard at making that happen on a regular basis so now we live a block and a half from the atlantic and as I sit here and look out the window I can see the water in the distance and it makes me smile.

mouthy likes to munch on crackers
all her friends are hearty snackers
they eat cheese and they drink wine
they have rosey cheeks that shine
she can try to get away
we don't care what she might say
the door is locked she cannot run
she must stay and have some fun

INTELLECTUAL HONESTY....what is it?
by Terry infreud said:.
"if it were really a matter of indifference what we belive, then we might just as well build our bridges of cardboard as of stone, or inject a tenth of a gram of morphine into a patient instead of a hundredth, or take teargas as a narcotic instead of ether; but the intellectual anarchists themselves would strongly repudiate any such practical applications of their theory.".
intellectual honesty requires a match between the real world; the practical world where things either work or do not work at all.....and the state of mind inside your head.. .

I like this conversation because I'm not a born-in I've made alot of crazy decisions in my life looking for a dream. I've tried it all meditation groups, communes, Jw's, radical groups looking for the answer. I've dumped the dream because I haven't a clue what's really going on so I'm living w/o a safety net and I'm okay. I'm tired of making excuses for a god who supposedly cares for us I don't see it. We don't even know what really took place on this planet in the last 10,000 years. Now it's archeology and DNA that fascinates me and My theory is that it's just as easy to wonder about things in your nice apt a block from the ocean as you listen to music and sip on your drink.

The organization acts like they have all the answers and the only hotline to a god who holds all the cards. The reality is they are deceitful liars and manipulators and they have nothing to offer. Their so called guidance to the "best life" is worthless. I wish they would crumble to the ground so they would stop ruining people's lives.

Brilliant and Funny - The Book of Mormon
by AK - Jeff inabout 15 of 'us' - all but one a former jw, and most either familiar with this board or currently posters here - attended the play in the chicago theater district last night.
what a hoot!
according to the geniuses [the same guys who did south park] who were behind the production, it targetted mormons on the way to poking fun at all religious delusion.. it was a great play, great actors, and wonderful props.
